I met Ryland and JP of Rainsford Photography at a Rising Tide Society meeting earlier in 2016. That night we did a networking version of “speed dating” with a huge group of creatives, so before our mountain adventure I really had only spent about five minutes of face-to-face time with them. I’ve followed their business and personal stories through their Instagram, and found that Rob and I had so much in common with them: our faith and love of Jesus, photography, being in the outdoors, and our husbands run marathons! I had dreamed of putting together a mountain shoot, and immediately thought of contacting Ryland and JP. It is easy to get caught up in the daily grind of owning your own business that you forget to create for yourself. This shoot was that personal creative space for me. It was an opportunity to get to know some dear friends, play dress up, and dare to push myself technically. Rainsford Photography also photographed my husband and I, which was super fun for us since we haven’t had professional photos taken of us since our wedding 2.5 years ago! We drove out to Black Balsam Knob on a Saturday afternoon in early September, and by the time we hiked up the trail it was freezing! We brought several outfits, blankets, and lots of other fun things but ended up feeling so cold that we threw it all to the wayside. That’s what’s nice about photographing for fun. πŸ™‚ Ryland and JP are naturals in front of the camera (which is not always true of us photographers!) and it was a dream to photograph their love. They are two of the sweetest and most genuine people I know, and I hope you feel that coming through the images below. These friends and this shoot was so refreshing. I hope to doΒ many more shoots out in the mountains, so mountain brides, hollllllla! πŸ™‚
